A member of the socialist ‘Squad’ in the House of Representatives is now under federal investigation over allegations of fraud. Rep. Cori Bush (D-MO) is accused of paying her husband large sums of money for alleged security services using taxpayer dollars.
The ‘Defund the Police’ advocate allegedly paid her husband Cortney Merritts $60,000 for “security services” using taxpayer dollars.
Bush argued that when she took office she had “endured relentless threats to my physical safety and life.” She added that as a member of Congress, she did not receive personal protections and denied using any federal funds for the added security.
Merritts does not have a private security license, despite being required by law to do so by the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department. He is also not licensed by the District of Columbia.
Rules of the Federal Election Commission state that payments to family members can only be provided for “bona fide” services.
The representative argued that the payments were “at or below a fair market rate” and blamed conservatives for the allegations.

This is not the first time that Bush or her office has come under considerable criticism. Following accusations of antisemitism, the representative’s bodyguard said that he could not be antisemitic because he was a self-proclaimed Jewish leader.
Nathaniel Davis has been paid more than $220,000 by the representative. Davis also claims that he is a Jewish “high priest” who has the ability to create tornadoes and read people’s minds. He also claims that he is 109 trillion years old by the true name of Aha Sen Piankhy. Davis is a former member of the new Black Panther Party.
After being accused of antisemitism, which the group often displays, he said that he is a member of a lost tribe of Israel, the Tribe of Issachar. This, Davis said, made makes him “Hebrew.” He added that “you’re literally dealing with the priesthood, literally.”
He made the statement despite working with an activist who stated that she sought to burn Jews alive.
