Former Hunter Biden business associate Devon Archer testified before the House Oversight Committee this week that President Joe Biden participated in his son’s activities. Archer’s statements led Oversight Committee Chairman Rep. James Comer (R-KY) to state that the president “lied to the American people when he said he had no knowledge about his son’s business dealings and was not involved.”
Archer told members of the committee that the then-vice president was placed on the phone with business contacts by his son more than 20 times.
“Joe Biden was ‘the brand’ that his son sold around the world to enrich the Biden family,” Comer said.
“When Joe Biden was Vice President of the United States, he joined Hunter Biden’s dinners with his foreign business associates in person or by speakerphone over 20 times,” the Kentucky Republican added.

What exactly is Joe Biden trying to hide?

Comer then asked rhetorically why the president would “lie to the American people about his family’s business dealings and his involvement.” He further asked what the president was “hiding” from the public.
The Republican added that the Oversight Committee would “continue to follow the Bidens’ money trail” regarding whether the Biden family was influenced by foreign individuals and companies.
Comer also called the president “compromised and corrupt,” adding that the nation’s “security is threatened.”
During the testimony, Archer stated that the Ukrainian energy company Burisma would have gone out of business if not for Joe Biden. Both Hunter Biden and Archer served on the company’s board. Hunter’s tenure occurred during his father’s time as vice president at a stipend of about $1 million per year.
In particular, Archer cited Biden’s actions in getting Ukrainian prosecutor Viktor Shokin fired. According to Archer’s testimony, Burisma officials pressured Hunter Biden to have Shokin, who was investigating the company, fired.
Then-Vice President Joe Biden said that the United States would withhold aid unless Shokin was removed.
One of the officials who contacted Hunter Biden regarding the manner, Mykola Zlochevsky, is implicated in an FBI document regarding possible bribes to both Joe and Hunter Biden.
