Even before his inauguration in 2021, critics of President Joe Biden were expressing concerns about his apparent loss of cognitive function.
Although he has been a gaffe-prone politician throughout his many decades in public office, his seemingly confused demeanor and often unintelligible remarks have clearly become more pronounced in recent years.
More than three dozen GOP officials signed a letter calling for the president to submit to a test of his cognitive function, citing advice from the Alzheimer’s Association that “changes in mood and personality” can be a sign of cognitive decline.
“You displayed this type of mood change during a Cabinet meeting on January 24, 2022, when you apparently did not know your microphone was on after finishing your opening remarks,” the Republican lawmakers wrote. “You called a White House reporter a ‘stupid son of a b****’ in response to a question asked on inflation.”
Biden recently released the results of his second physical examination since taking office, but the report did not include any evidence that he had received a cognitive assessment.
U.S. Rep. Ronny Jackson (R-TX) who previously served as White House physician during the Obama and Trump administrations, has provided a consistent call for Biden to receive such a test.
Rep. Ronny Jackson on Biden's cognitive abilities:
"Something's changed … Parkinson's, Alzheimer's, multi-infarct dementia, I don't know what he's got going on, but he has something that's causing him to have cognitive decline, and it's progressive." pic.twitter.com/EHGLwsz0YU

He administered such a test to former President Donald Trump and subsequently indicated that it revealed robust cognitive function. Now, he is warning that Biden’s mental state could lead the U.S. into war.
“It’s TERRIFYING for our country that Biden is our commander-in-chief,” Jackson tweeted recently. “He doesn’t know where he’s at half the time, and every day he brings us closer to an all-out war with Russia & China. “His cognitive decline is going to get people KILLED!!”
The president once again sparked concerns about the impact that his advanced age is having on his ability to perform his duties when he stumbled up the steps while boarding Air Force One following his trip to Poland.
White House physician Kevin O’Connor addressed Biden’s uneasy stride in the report that accompanied the recent physical examination, concluding that it is a result of “significant spinal arthritis, mild post-fracture foot arthritis, and a mild sensory peripheral neuropathy of the feet.”
