Appeals Court Reduces Trump Bond Payment

Former President Donald Trump won a victory in court this week as an appeals court decided to reduce the amount of his bond payment tied to his New York Civil cases by more than half. The decision came as the former president’s personal wealth skyrocketed in recent days in anticipation of his social media network’s merger.

The decision by the Supreme Court of the State of New York Appellate Division, First Judicial Department allowed the former president one more week to post bond related to the civil judgments and lowered the amount from $454 million to $175 million.

The appeals court also barred the former president and other corporate defendants in the cse from “serving as an officer or director of any New York corporation for three years.” The former president was also barred from applying for loans from New York financial institutions for three years.

On social media the former president criticized Judge Arthur Engoron and New York Attorney General Tish James (D), writing that the judge “refused to obey the decision of the Appellate Division relative to the Statute of Limitations.”

“This is a confrontation between a Judge and those that rule above him – A very bad situation in which to place New York State and the Rule of Law! Engoron has disrespected the Appellate Division and its very clear and precise ruling. He should be made to do so, and at the same time, release the GAG ORDER,” wrote the former president.

Trump also cited five cases in which Engoron’s rulings were overturned, which he called a “record.”

Trump said that his legal team would “abide” by the appellate division’s ruling and provide “bond, equivalent securities or cash.” The former president wrote that the decision showed how “outrageous” the original court decision was and that both Engoron and James’ credibility were both “shattered.”

“I DID NOTHING WRONG, AND NEW YORK SHOULD NEVER BE PUT IN A POSITION LIKE THIS AGAIN. BUSINESSES ARE FLEEING, VIOLENT CRIME IS FLOURISHING AND IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT THIS BE RESOLVED IN ITS TOTALITY AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. THANK YOU!” the former president wrote.
