VP Harris’ Stepdaughter Raising Money For Gaza

The stepdaughter of Vice President Kamala Harris is aiding a fundraiser for Gaza amid the ongoing war between Israel and the Hamas terrorist organization. The move comes as a number of left-wing politicians and activists called for Israel to stop its current operations.

Harris’ stepdaughter Ella Emhoff promoted a post “supporting urgent relief for Gaza’s children” on her Instagram profile.

Emhoff is the daughter of Harris’ husband Doug Emhoff. Emhoff is Jewish. The effort appears to have helped the fundraiser, which has brought in almost $8 million. The fundraiser is hosted by the Palestinian Children’s Relief Fund, which operates out of Kent, Ohio.

Despite her father’s religious background, a representative for Emhoff said that she was “not Jewish.” While she “truly has no qualms with the faith,” the spokesperson said that “she does not want to speak on behalf of Judaism, as she does not celebrate herself.”

Rep. Jeff Van Drew (R-NJ) said that Emhoff’s efforts were “of tremendous concern and I find it abhorrent.”

He further said that he was “stunned” by Harris’ stepdaughter’s actions and that it was “disturbing to the maximum degree.”

The representative said that he was concerned that Hamas could take the funds donated for another cause and use it for their own purposes.

Last month, President Joe Biden announced $100 million in aid for Gaza amid the conflict.

While the effort was intended for humanitarian purposes, a number of Republicans criticized the move as possibly aiding groups like Hamas.

“It’s so inappropriate to be doing that right now. He’s over in Israel and he’s giving money to the Palestinians,” said former President Donald Trump. “I think it’s pretty inappropriate.”

“No U.S. tax dollars to the Gaza Strip. Hamas is holding American hostages and Biden wants to fund them? I challenge every Republican running to step up to the plate and oppose Biden’s $100 million gift to Hamas,” said Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R).

Nikki Haley’s campaign cited her efforts to reduce aid to Palestine during her tenure as ambassador to the United Nations under Trump.
