Recent social media posts claiming former President Donald Trump proposed replacing LGBTQ+ Pride Month with Veterans Month have been proven false through fact-checking efforts. A viral Facebook post that garnered over 100,000 likes suggested Trump wanted to substitute Pride Month celebrations with a month dedicated to veterans.

The post, which provided no evidence or sources to support its assertion, sparked widespread discussion across social media platforms. However, a thorough investigation reveals no merit to these claims.
Trump’s official social media presence, including his personal and government X accounts, as well as his TRUTH Social platform, contains no mentions of such a proposal. Similarly, the White House website and its official social media channels show no record of this supposed suggestion.

Further debunking the claim, no executive orders have been issued regarding such a change, and legitimate news organizations have not reported on any such proposal. In fact, PolitiFact addressed and dismissed these claims on April 2. Historical records show that during his presidency, Trump designated November as “Veterans and Families Month,” while June has traditionally been recognized as LGBTQ+ Pride Month.
These two commemorative months have existed separately and continue to do so. The spread of this unsubstantiated claim highlights the importance of fact-checking viral social media posts, particularly those making significant political assertions without providing credible sources or evidence. The White House has been contacted for additional comment on this matter.
