Trump To Appeal $355 Million Fine

Former President Donald Trump plans to appeal a New York court decision that fined him more than $350 million for alleged fraud linked to his real estate empire. The former president’s action came as he decried the decision by Judge Arthur Engoron as a mishandling of justice.

Trump attorney Christopher Kise said that the decision “raises serious legal and constitutional questions regarding ‘fraud’ claims/findings without any actual fraud.”

The attorney said that the former president would appeal the case within the 30-day limit. Kise also said that the decision would hurt New York City. Trump was barred from doing business in the state for three years. In order to win, Trump’s legal team would have to prove that the charges were not sufficient to prove fraud.

The former president also argued that New York’s current law “Trump attorney Christopher Kise said that the decision “raises serious legal and constitutional questions regarding ‘fraud’ claims/findings without any actual fraud.”

The former president called Engoron a “crooked” and “radical left-wing” judge. He said that there were no “victims” or “defaults” from his actions.

The decision also drew sharp criticism from conservatives, including fears that the judgment could lead businesses to leave New York.

The former president also argued on social media that the case was one of “Election Interference and tyrannical Abuse of Power by a Crooked Judge and Crooked Attorney General” that “cannot be tolerated.”

He said that he had previous won the case in the Appellate Division, but “as I suspected, and in order to hurt me and the Republican Party politically, Crooked and Corrupt” Judge Arthur Engoron ignored his loss at the Appellate Division, and came up with an outrageous $355 Million Dollar fine against me.”

Trump argued that the statute used in the case had “never been applied like the before,” alleging that the judge worked with New York State Attorney General Tish James (D) to punish “a liquid and beautiful Corporate Empire that started in New York, and has been successful all around the world…”
