Former President Donald Trump said this week that he believed that millions of dollars received by Hunter Biden went to his father, President Joe Biden. Trump’s comments come as House Republicans expand their investigation into the business dealings of the Biden family.
When asked by Newsmax about $20 million in payments from foreign sources to Biden’s family, Trump said that it was a “tremendous amount of money.”
“And nothing was done for it. It was just a bribe. It’s just a bribe, extortion and a bribe,” the former president said.
Trump specifically cited Hunter Biden’s tenure on the board of Burisma, a Ukrainian energy company. As vice president, Joe Biden threatened to withhold $1 billion in aid unless a prosecutor investigating the company was dismissed.
Trump described it as “quid pro quo.”
Furthermore, Trump believed that millions in payments went to Joe Biden either “indirectly or directly” and called Biden “corrupt” and “crooked” during the interview with the network’s Eric Bolling.
Trump also said that he believed that China paid the Biden family more than previously believed. The former president asserted that China paid Biden “a fortune,” and called him a “Manchurian candidate.”
“He’s so afraid of China,” Trump said of Biden. “And the reason he’s afraid is because I believe they paid him a tremendous amount of money. And he doesn’t want people to find out about it.”
Separately, the president was asked by Fox News’ Peter Doocy about allegations that he had spoken to Hunter Biden’s business associates on more than a dozen occasions.
“I never talked business with anybody! I knew you’d have a lousy question,” said the president.
When asked what made the question “lousy,” Biden responded, “Because it’s not true!”
"Your son's former business associates is claiming that you were on speakerphone a lot with them talking business?"

In addition, a former business partner of Hunter Biden testified before Congress that the President had more involvement with his son’s businesses than previously disclosed. Devon Archer testified before Congress last month that Hunter Biden called his father during business meetings at least 20 different times.
Archer said that the calls were meant to build the Biden “brand.”
House Oversight Committee Chairman Rep. James Comer (R-KY) said the president “lied to the American people when he said he had no knowledge about his son’s business dealings and was not involved.”
