Former President Donald Trump criticized special counsel Jack Smith over a number of new charges against him and associates related to accusations that he handled classified documents at his Florida home. The former president told Breitbart News this week that the new charges were “harassment.”
Trump said that Smith’s actions are “election interference.”
“I’m protected by the Presidential Records Act totally,” he said. “It shouldn’t even be a case. It’s not a criminal case.”
Trump referenced the discovery of a number of sensitive documents in the garage of President Joe Biden. He said that Biden has “20 times, 30 times the documents I have” and accused him of “hiding boxes.”
The former president also accused Biden of “sending boxes to Chinatown. Boxes are being sent to Chinatown, and yet China is paying them millions of dollars. You explain that one.”
Trump said that the United States currently has a “two-tier system of injustice” and that the “country is very sick right now.”
“We have a failing nation and it’s a very sad thing to watch,” he said.
Joe Biden’s justice department dropped campaign finance charges against SBF — he was the Democrats second biggest donor — on the same day he charged Trump with more offenses. Banana republic insanity. I discussed with @JesseBWatters: pic.twitter.com/rRJKbXzoES

Following the superseding indictment, the former president faces 40 felony charges in relation to the documents. The federal government accused Trump of not having authorization to have the sensitive materials and allegedly showing them to members of the public.
The former president pled not guilty to the first 37 charges in June.
Furthermore, the special counsel declined to have Trump arraigned in relation to the latest charges.
Recently, Trump said that the special counsel’s office contacted his legal team to tell them that he is the subject of an investigation related to the Jan. 6, 2021 protests at the Capitol.
The former president said Friday that if he was convicted and sentenced to prison that he would continue his 2024 bid for the White House.
Regarding possible prison time, Trump said that there was “nothing in the Constitution to say that it could” stop his campaign.
“Even the radical left crazies are saying, ‘No, that wouldn’t stop!’ And it wouldn’t stop me either,” he said.
