Dominik Tarczyński, a Polish politician and journalist serving as an MEP since 2020, stood firm against Uygur’s criticisms directed at former U.S. President Donald Trump.

The exchange, which took place on Patrick Bet-David’s show, began with Tarczyński countering the personal attacks and labels often directed at conservatives in the political arena. “As a member of the European Parliament who was called names, I’m glad we have this moment of silence now because I would like to remind you, these individuals lecture us about unity,” Dominik Tarczyński said. “I would like to remind you again, they talk and lecture us about unity. Now you have an opportunity to practice what you preach and demonstrate to the whole nation what unity in democracy means. You have to handle setbacks gracefully because if you can’t handle setbacks, you have no right to succeed,” he added.

Tarczyński’s remarks elicited applause and chants of “USA!” from the audience, prompting a defensive reaction from Uygur, who questioned Tarczyński’s nationality in a manner that seemed to undermine the Polish MEP’s right to participate in the discourse.

Uygur made assertions against Trump, claiming he was a “sore loser” who tried to “undermine democracy” and dispute the 2020 election outcome. “Yeah, this individual isn’t even American, so I don’t know why he’s chanting ‘USA.’ I’ll chant ‘USA,’ not you, okay?” said Uygur. “Second, you’re talking about handling setbacks gracefully when that person, Donald Trump, tried to overturn an election, tried to subvert the Constitution, incited a riot where he seemed unconcerned if his vice president was harmed, stormed the Capitol, and tried to undermine our democracy.”

Uygur attempted to further diminish Tarczyński, asking, “Who is this person?” But Tarczyński’s response showcased composure and resolve. “I’d like to have a conversation. You ask me why I am in the US now? Because I was invited, and I came here legally. Patrick invited me as a politician to come to the US because, as a European, as a Pole, I recognize the US as a leader of the free world, and I pay my respects to this country,” said Dominik Tarczyński. “I came here because I used to live under an oppressive system. My country was under an oppressive system, and leaders like Reagan helped free our country. I will always be grateful to those in the United States who fought for the freedom of Poland and Europe. My presence here in America is my way to pay respect to those who championed liberty. I do not want that oppressive system back,” he added, eliciting a passionate reaction from the crowd.
