Democrats are beginning to turn on President Joe Biden. Suppose Senator Joe Manchin’s (D-WV) growing popularity among Republicans is a sign that it’s time to push back. In that case, there’s going to be a lot more changing as we slowly creep through the 46th president’s administration.
Colorado Governor Jared Polis (D) said in a meeting on NBC’s “Meet the Press” with Chuck Todd, “The emergency has ended. Public health does not have the authority to advise people what to wear. It’s simply not their job. You don’t require folks to wear a jacket when they go out in the winter. It’s their fault if they suffer frostbite.”
Polis couldn’t be more correct. When all attempts to curve the COVID-19 virus have failed, you can’t keep trying the same old efforts attempted in 2020. Not only did 2020 show Americans that their vote counts when things get “communist,” it shows the citizens of the United States that the government can’t control a virus no matter how hard they try.
It should serve as a tremendous wake-up message to Democrats around the country. Not only because Polis is going against Biden and pushing back on the lie of “follow the science,” but Polis is the governor in the state Lauren Boebert (R-CO) was elected as a representative. There’s something to be said about the growing hatred of Biden in a whole state that’s represented in every political party.
Polis continued, “You know, Chuck, we’re two years into this thing. And I think our leaders, whether they’re governors or mayors, local influencers must lead with facts rather than fear.”
In “Mediaite’s Most Influential in News Media 2021,” number 1 is Tucker Carlson, and number 2 is Joe Rogan. That speaks volumes for the way people embrace the media and their interpretation and commentary on current events.
Polis continued and said that people don’t react well to the fear tactics, and he’s right. There’s been nothing but negative coverage of COVID-19 to bring fear to the virus. Is it dangerous? Sure. Is it a death sentence? Not. When the death count wasn’t good enough, the media switched to the infection rate to cause fear in public.
Polis was asked if Biden called and asked for his advice on what to say about Omicron, or as Biden says, “Omicron,” Polis said, “I would say, ‘stop talking about the vaccine as a booster, talk about it as three doses that are needed for effective prevention.”
That’s extremely reasonable. There’s no point in forcing the American people into taking more vaccines. Then again, the White House went the opposite direction with their message to Americans:
“For the unvaccinated, you’re looking at a winter of severe illness and death for yourselves, your families, and the hospitals you may soon overwhelm.”
If that doesn’t upset you, then you’re the problem.
