Kinzinger Praises Harris, Says She Supports America’s ‘Bedrock Values’

Former Illinois Republican Rep. Adam Kinzinger took the stage at the Democratic National Convention to throw his support behind Vice President Kamala Harris. Kinzinger, who has increasingly aligned himself with the far-Left, urged voters to back Harris, claiming that doing so would uphold America’s “bedrock values.”

During his speech, Kinzinger, who once proudly wore the Republican label, seemed to forget the principles that once defined his political career. “I am proud to be in the trenches with you,” he told the audience, acknowledging the awkwardness of his newfound alliance with the Democrats. He went on to claim that Democrats “love this country just as much as we do” and are just as eager to defend American values

Kinzinger’s speech was laced with rhetoric that seemed more at home in a leftist rally than at a conservative gathering. He spoke of democracy in almost religious terms, calling it a “living, breathing ideal” that “knows no party.”

He even took the opportunity to attack former President Donald Trump, dismissing him as a “weak man pretending to be strong.”

What’s even more puzzling is Kinzinger’s claim that the Republican Party is “no longer conservative” and his assertion that Harris shares his devotion to the Constitution, rule of law, and democracy. For many on the Right, Harris represents the very antithesis of these principles. Her close ties to Planned Parenthood, radical positions on illegal immigration, and support for policies that would cripple American energy independence have made her one of the most far-Left candidates ever to seek the presidency.

In response to Harris’ candidacy, the Republican National Committee launched a website, kamala2024policies.com, that lays bare the dangers of her liberal agenda. The website pulls no punches, stating, “Kamala Harris is weak, failed, and dangerously liberal.”

It goes on to detail how Harris is so radical that she makes even “the Squad” look like moderates. Her policies, according to the RNC, would “abolish our borders, let criminals control our streets, surrender our communities to cartels and a plague of fentanyl, wage war on American energy, and destroy the American Dream.”

Kinzinger has previously promised back in 2022 to support far-Left Democrats should he believe that fellow Republicans running against them were “anti-democracy.”
