Kamala Harris Seemingly Mimics Another Of Trump-Vance Policies

Vice President Kamala Harris seems to be borrowing more pages from the Trump-Vance playbook.

On Friday, Harris announced her support for a $6,000 child tax credit, a move that closely mirrors a recent policy suggestion from Senator JD Vance. Just days earlier, Vance had proposed doubling the child tax credit to $5,000, saying in an interview, “I’d love to see a child tax credit that’s $5,000 per child.”

Harris’ campaign detailed that her plan would provide “up to $6,000 in total tax relief for middle-income and low-income families for the first year of their child’s life when expenses are highest.”

The timing of her announcement, so soon after Vance’s proposal, has raised eyebrows among political watchers.

This isn’t the first time Harris has appeared to follow in Trump’s footsteps. On Aug. 10, she surprised many by backing the idea of eliminating taxes on service workers’ tips, a policy Trump had introduced just weeks earlier.

Speaking at a rally in Las Vegas, Harris promised, “It is my promise to everyone here, when I am president we will continue our fight for working families of America, including to raise the minimum wage and eliminate taxes on tips for service and hospitality workers.”

Trump had already announced his “no tax on tips” policy after a rally in Las Vegas, a city known for its large service and hospitality industry. His supporters quickly embraced the idea, writing “no tax on tips” on restaurant receipts to encourage service workers to vote for Trump.

Trump himself made headlines when he wrote the message on a receipt and left a $500 tip at a Philadelphia cheesesteak restaurant.

When Harris echoed the policy, Trump didn’t hesitate to call her out.

In a post on Truth Social on Aug. 12, he wrote, “Kamala Harris, whose ‘Honeymoon’ period is ENDING, and is starting to get hammered in the Polls, just copied my NO TAXES ON TIPS Policy. The difference is, she won’t do it, she just wants it for Political Purposes! This was a TRUMP idea – She has no ideas, she can only steal from me.”

Trump’s criticism points to a deeper question of whether Harris can deliver on these promises, or they are just political maneuvers.

“Remember, Kamala has proposed the LARGEST TAX INCREASE IN HISTORY – It won’t happen. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!!” he continued.

Trump also brought up the issue during an interview with tech billionaire Elon Musk.
