Joe Biden Continues to Spread Disinformation About January 6

President Joe Biden has been caught spreading disinformation once again, this time lying about the infamous January 6th riot, claiming that Capitol rioters “killed two police officers.”

While giving the commencement address at his alma mater — the University of Delaware — on Saturday, the president outright lied about officers dying during the riot at the Capitol building on January 6, 2021.

Biden and several top Democrats have repeated the debunked claim on numerous occasions, despite the fact that it has been proven that no officers died during the riots. One officer passed away the following day, though it was concluded that he died of natural causes.

“A mob of insurrectionists stormed the Capitol, the very citadel of democracy,” Biden told the crowd of new graduates at the University of Delaware, the school he graduated from in 1965. “Imagine what you’d be thinking today if you had heard this morning before you got here that a group of a thousand people broke down the doors of the parliament of Great Britain, killed two police officers, smashed and ransacked the office of members of the British Parliament or any other, what would you think? What would you think?”

Immediately following the death of Capitol Police Officer Brian Sicknick on January 7, the department put out a statement that was outright false, claiming that he had been “injured while physically engaging with protesters” and “was taken to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.”

The New York Times also reported fake news about Sicknick, claiming that he had been beaten with a fire extinguisher.

These claims were all debunked by the Washington, D.C., Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, who told the Washington Examiner that Sicknick’s death was “natural” and caused by two strokes.

Two other police officers, Metropolitan Police Officer Jeffrey Smith and Capitol Police Officer Howard Liebengood, committed suicide soon after the riot.

The only people who actually died on January 6 that were involved in the riots were Air Force veteran and Trump supporter Ashli Babbitt, who was shot in the neck by Capitol Police Lt. Michael Byrd; two protesters who suffered fatal heart attacks, and another protester who allegedly died of a drug overdose after being severely beaten while unconscious by DC Metro Police Officer Lila Morris.

This isn’t the first time Biden lied about police dying during the Capitol riot, though this time he lowered the body count. During a speech in Wisconsin in March, the president claimed that rioters had killed five officers.

“Look, how would you feel if you saw crowds storm and break down the doors of the British Parliament, kill five cops, injure 145 — or the German Bundestag, or the Italian Parliament?” Biden asked. “I think you’d wonder.”

“Well, that’s what the rest of the world saw. It’s not who we are. And now, we’re proving, under pressure, that we are not that country. We’re united,” he added.
