Hunter Biden’s attorneys are suing former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani (R) over what they describe as “hacking” done to his laptop. The lawsuit comes after years of denials over the laptop’s authenticity and information held within the computer being used by House Republicans in their ongoing investigation into the Biden family’s business dealings and finances.
The Biden legal team does not explicitly admit that the computer was their client’s. However, they accuse Giuliani and attorney Robert Costello as “among those who have been primarily responsible for what has been described as the ‘total annihilation’ of Plaintiff’s digital privacy.”
The laptop’s discovery was one of the largest stories of the 2020 election. Despite denials regarding its authenticity, the information has included a number of sensitive documents from and to Hunter Biden, including pictures of him in compromising situations.
A number of former intelligence officials penned a letter stating their opinion that the laptop was fake and perhaps was Russian disinformation. A bombshell New York Post story about the laptop was embargoed on social media networks including Twitter, now called X, and Facebook.

Hunter Biden’s legal team recently announced a lawsuit against the IRS. Several IRS whistleblowers have come forward, including investigator Gary Shapley, accusing the Justice Department of possible improper interference in the probe into the president’s son.
The younger Biden was reportedly due to plead guilty to a number of tax and firearm-related federal misdemeanors earlier this summer. The deal, engineered by U.S. Attorney David Weiss, would have likely resulted in no jail time for the president’s son.
However, following the revelations from the whistleblowers, the deal was called off. One of the statements made by Shapley indicated that Weiss twice sought charges against Hunter Biden but was rebuffed by two different Justice Department officials.
Following the collapse of the plea deal, Weiss was named special counsel by U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland. The new special counsel then charged the younger Biden with a number of federal felony firearms charges. Weiss is reportedly seeking tax charges against the president’s son, as well.
