Home Depot Co-Founder: Nobody Works Anymore ‘Because Of Socialism’

Billionaire Home Depot co-founder Bernie Marcus offered his own insight as to why the U.S. is facing a shortage in labor.

Nobody works anymore “because of socialism,” he declared in an interview with the Financial Times published Thursday.

“Nobody gives a damn. ‘Just give it to me. Send me money. I don’t want to work. I’m too lazy. I’m too fat. I’m too stupid,’” Marcus added.

The billionaire additionally stated he is “worried about capitalism” and that the institutions of free speech and businesses are at risk due to the rise of “woke culture.”

“Capitalism is the basis of Home Depot, [and] millions of people have earned this success and had success,” Marcus said to the Financial Times.

“I’m talking manufacturers, vendors and distributors, and people that work for us [who have been] able to enrich themselves by the journey of Home Depot. That’s the success. That’s why capitalism works.”

Marcus, who has a long record of experience in the private sector, has spoken with media outlets on numerous financial matters. The Home Depot co-founder spoke on the state of the rapidly declining American dollar, saying that “inflation is killing us.”

“A gallon of gas vs. putting food on the table is not a place you want to be… We just don’t learn.”

Various U.S. companies have remained unable to fill many open roles, with the largest numbers of job openings found in transportation, healthcare, social assistance, and the food sectors, Newsmax reports.

A reported total of over 47 million workers quit their jobs during the Covid-19 pandemic, causing massive disruptions to the labor force.

“Woke people have taken over the world,” Marcus said to the Financial Times.

Marcus, who has an estimated net worth of around $7 billion, expressed that he has no fear of any type of retribution for his opinions, saying, “You know, I imagine today they can’t attack me. I’m 93. Who gives a crap about Bernie Marcus?”

The Home Depot co-founder is well-known by some in conservative-leaning circles. Former Brexit Party leader Nigel Farage posted a video on social media Friday calling him an “American hero” and urging people to listen to what he has to say.
