Grassley Urges FBI, DOJ Cooperation On Biden Allegations Subpoena

Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) is calling on the Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) to cooperate with a subpoena to provide documents related to allegations of criminal activity involving then-Vice President Joe Biden. Grassley and House Committee on Oversight James Comer (R-KY) stated that the DOJ and FBI have an unclassified FD-1023 form that details an alleged “criminal scheme” connecting Biden to a foreign national in exchange for policy decisions.

Grassley explained in an interview, “If the Justice Department and the FBI have any hopes of redeeming their once trusted position with the American people, Garland and Wray must answer this subpoena and tell us what they’re doing with this information that we think is very credible based upon what whistleblowers are telling us.” He emphasized that he received this information from “very credible sources within the department.”

The Iowa senator expressed concern that the explosive nature of the unclassified document might lead the administration to classify it, attempting to keep it out of Congress’s hands. He expects obtaining the document to be “very difficult” but insists that the American people deserve transparency from the FBI.

Grassley warned that their credibility would suffer if the agencies fail to produce the records. “I would hope they’d want to enhance their credibility by cooperating with us on this,” he added.
Comer and Grassley have expressed concerns about growing public unease with the DOJ and FBI’s track record of allowing political bias to influence their decision-making process. They believe that congressional oversight is necessary to ensure objectivity and transparency.

The congressional subpoena seeks “all FD-1023 forms, including within any open, closed, or restricted access case files, created or modified in June 2020, containing the term ‘Biden,’ including all accompanying attachments and documents to those FD-1023 forms.”

Grassley, a longtime advocate for whistleblowers, stated, “We believe the FBI possesses an unclassified internal document that includes very serious and detailed allegations implicating the current President of the United States.”

Sen. Grassley and Rep. Comer are urging the DOJ and FBI to disclose their actions regarding the document. They want to know what steps were taken to investigate and verify the document’s accuracy and whether the agencies followed standard investigative procedures or allowed political calculations to interfere.

Grassley hopes that the FBI’s cooperation with the investigation will help restore their credibility and provide the transparency Americans deserve. Grassley has been investigating these claims, as well as Hunter Biden’s business dealings, since 2019.
