Donald Trump Tells All On ABC Debate In A Recent Interview

Donald Trump said Monday he wishes he had taken on ABC News anchors David Muir and Linsey Davis during last week’s presidential debate on the Fox News evening show Gutfeld!

“I think my only regret is that I wanted to be elegant, and I didn’t want to go after the anchors. I wish I did, in a way,” Trump said.

“I was very unfairly treated by the anchor. I’m not fans of those guys anymore – and his hair was better five years ago,” Trump quipped, referring to Muir, adding, “That happens with the clock.”

The comments from Trump follow backlash among his base about what they saw as Muir and Davis going after him with fact-checks — but giving Vice President Kamala Harris a pass.

Trump lamented to the debate moderators, pounding them for their treatment through the Tuesday-night exchange: “They didn’t correct her once, and they corrected me- everything I said, practically.”

Critics have followed Trump’s lead, accusing the ABC moderators of bias for pressing him on misinformation — but not doing the same with Harris. He also attacked his former running mate, Kamala Harris — whom he accused of serving up a “fake news” after she was asked if Americans are better off financially than they were four years ago.

“If I were Winston Churchill- he was a great debater, by the way, and an elegant debater. If I were Winston Churchill, they would say, ‘Well, he was okay, but he wasn’t special tonight,'” Trump said.

Later in the interview, Trump also addressed Sunday’s second assassination attempt, joking “I always said golf is a very dangerous game.”

“The Secret Service did a great job,” Trump later said. “They saw the barrel of a gun. A big gun. And it came out through bushes. How many people would see that?”

He also thanked a “heroine” for photographing the license plate of the would-be assassin.

Trump provided revelatory remarks combined with humorous insights about the debate and assassination attempt, all of which helped make his Gutfeld! appearance.
