Donald Trump Jr. Calls Out Reporter For Misleading JD Vance Clip

\\Donald Trump Jr. isn’t one to stay silent when he sees something wrong, and this Friday was no different. On Friday, he took to social media to call out a reporter, Jacqueline Sweet, for sharing a misleading video clip of Ohio Senator JD Vance, who is also former President Donald Trump’s running mate in the upcoming election.

The clip in question was from an interview Vance gave back in 2021, where he discussed the complexities of immigration.

In the short clip that Sweet posted on X, Vance talked about the challenges that large waves of immigration brought to the U.S. over a century ago, particularly from Italy, Germany, and Ireland. He mentioned that these waves had their problems, including higher crime rates and ethnic enclaves developing in the country.

Sweet stopped the clip right there, making it seem like Vance was only focusing on the negatives.

However, what she left out was crucial. Vance went on to explain that while there were challenges, the U.S. eventually adapted by slowing down immigration for a time, allowing these communities to fully integrate into American society.

This context changes everything, showing that Vance wasn’t just criticizing immigration — he was acknowledging the process of assimilation and how it benefited the country in the long run.

Trump Jr. didn’t take kindly to the omission, as did various X users, who called her out and got blocked for it.

Trump Jr. also called Sweet out, posting on X, “Hey hack – Why are you blocking people for calling you out over dishonestly editing this clip?”

He also highlighted a post sharing the full context of Vance’s remarks, making it clear that the original post was far from the full story.

In the full clip, Vance talked about how the U.S. handled the influx of immigrants by slowing down immigration in the 1920s. “And so there were downsides to it. Obviously, there were upsides, too. And one of the cool things that we did in the 1920s is we just sort of slowed down immigration a little bit, we let those, those sort of populations who had come to the country as new citizens, really incorporate themselves into the broader American fabric,” the vice presidential pick for Trump said.

In addition to blocking users that called her out for her dishonest tweets, Sweet locked her account.
