Democrats Plan to Fight Upcoming Roe v. Wade Decision By Sending Out Kamala Harris

As the pro-abortion left continues to melt down over news of the potential overturning of Roe v. Wade, a new plan has emerged: send Vice President Kamala Harris out to be their champion. Conservatives have been quick to point out that the left has tried this strategy several times before, and it has failed.

The Los Angeles Times reported on Tuesday that the vice president “is likely to play an expanded role in pushing the Democrats’ political case on protecting abortion rights” ahead of a formal ruling from the Supreme Court on the issue, which is expected sometime this summer.

In a statement issued Tuesday responding to a leaked draft memo of the forthcoming decision, Harris took a stand for the left’s pro-abortion cause, proclaiming: “This is the time to fight for women.”

“Opponents of Roe want to punish women and take away their rights to make decisions about their own bodies. Republican legislators in states across the country are weaponizing the use of the law against women,” the vice president claimed.

“The rights of all Americans are at risk,” she continued. “If the right to privacy is weakened, every person could face a future in which the government can potentially interfere in the personal decisions you make about your life. This is the time to fight for women and for our country with everything we have.”

Harris’s combative statement received a positive response from pro-abortion advocates on social media, who have become enraged over the idea that the right to an abortion — which was invented out of thin air in Roe v. Wade — could soon become an issue for states to decide.

The radical pro-abortion left wants to see national Democrats step up and do something about the impending decision from the Supreme Court. The current idea being put forth is to eliminate the filibuster and codify abortion rights in federal law.

Radicals in Congress are already calling for this to be done, such as Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT), who tweeted: “Congress must pass legislation that codifies Roe v. Wade as the law of the land in this country NOW. And if there aren’t 60 votes in the Senate to do it, and there are not, we must end the filibuster to pass it with 50 votes.”

The rest of the left is calling for Harris to go out on the road to promote their cause, likely because of the fact that she’s a woman in the White House.

“This is a moment that @VP should step up, must step up and lead,” tweeted author David Rothkopf.

Daily Beast columnist Wajahat Ali added, “Kamala Harris can emerge and own this moment … She is the first Black female VP. She can marshall this energy and try to galvanize it.”

Several others on social media agreed with the opinion.

The Los Angeles Times even noted that Harris “would be a natural point person for the administration to vocally raise the issue on the midterm campaign trail” because of her gender and her longstanding support for abortion.

There’s just a few problems with this logic: Harris is terribly unpopular, and every duty she has been given since becoming vice president, she has failed miserably at. From the border crisis, to Russia-Ukraine diplomacy, to management of the COVID pandemic, Harris has left a bad taste in the mouths of the American people.

Early in President Joe Biden’s term, Harris was named as the point person on the unprecedented illegal immigration crisis. Her response to the crisis was to never actually make a trip to the border, and ultimately unveil a vague, “root causes” strategy with no “detailed timeline or specific policy actions to be taken.” Harris has since moved on from that task, but the border crisis continues to plague the country.

In late 2021, in regards to dealing with the COVID pandemic, Harris created a significant snafu for the Biden administration when she confusingly stated that the administration “didn’t see” waves of new virus variants “coming.”

Most recently, Harris embarrassed herself — and the country as a whole — after being sent to Germany to meet with top European leaders in an attempt to deescalate the conflict between Russia and Ukraine and decrease the chances of all-out war.

During that meeting, Harris declared that Russian President Vladimir Putin had “made his decision” to invade Ukraine, while also making a promise that the United States would “absolutely” deter Putin from invading Ukraine.

Harris’ failures as vice president have led to her earning a historically low 28% approval rating, and resulted in many of her senior staff resigning in an attempt to save their own careers.

Despite all of this evidence that she is incapable of handling any task given to her, the Democrats somehow believe that she should be point-person for their new abortion initiative. At this point, Republicans will likely welcome the news that Harris may be tapped to lead on the issue.
