Democrat Rep. Flips Off Republicans During Baseball Game

Rep. Linda Sanchez (D-CA) showed her true colors during the congressional baseball game for charity Thursday night, flipping off the Republican dugout as she jogged by them.

Despite the fact that Democrats have continued to escalate their hatred for Republicans in their rhetoric throughout the past few years, most people did not expect anything to occur during a planned event for charity. Unfortunately, they were wrong.

While jogging past the Republican dugout during the 87th annual Congressional Baseball Game for Charity, Sanchez decided that the best course of action would be to flip off her colleagues while all eyes were on her, including TV cameras.

Rather than responding with equally crude gestures during a charitable event, the Republicans simply let the score do the talking, beating the Democrats easily 10-0.

The Democrat congresswoman’s vulgar gesture comes five years after a left-wing terrorist attempted to assassinate Republican lawmakers during one of the practices leading up to the congressional baseball game, shooting five people, including Rep. Steve Scalise (R-LA), who sustained near-fatal injuries, and had to undergo multiple lifesaving surgeries and blood transfusions following the attack. The only person killed during the incident was the terrorist.

“5 years ago my colleagues & I were attacked playing baseball—because we’re Republicans,” Scalise wrote in a post on Twitter. “We didn’t let it stop us then & nothing will stop us now. It’s been a long journey, but tonight we play the Congressional Baseball Game—5 years stronger.”

During a 2018 interview, Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) revealed a key detail from the attack that the mainstream media largely ignored — the terrorist was yelling “this is for healthcare!” while he was shooting.

“He also had a list of conservative legislators, Republicans, in his pocket that he was willing to kill,” Paul added.

Meanwhile, three leftist climate protesters have been arrested for blocking one of the entrances at Nationals Park in Washington, D.C., where the game was being held. Police arrested the activists for unlawful entry, according to a statement from police given to The Daily Caller.

Video from Fox News Digital shows police forcing one protester out of the area, carrying her from the park entrance by her arms and legs. In the background, other climate activists can be heard chanting a typical leftist slogan: “this is what democracy looks like.”

According to reports, the suspects were part of a climate protest organized at the stadium during the baseball game. Some of the activists were wearing red shirts demanding that the federal government “Declare Emergency,” the clips showed. The activists also chanted, “Democrats, seal the deal!”

On Wednesday afternoon, the day before the game, Capitol Police Chief Tom Manger warned people that planned to protest that police had security plans in place for anyone who was contemplating causing trouble at the game.

“A message from U.S. Capitol Police Chief Tom Manger ahead of tomorrow’s Congressional Baseball Game for Charity,” Manger told Fox News. “We are aware that demonstrators are planning to protest political issues at the Congressional Baseball Game for Charity. Our mission is to protect the Members of Congress during this family event, so we have a robust security plan in place.”

“We urge anyone who is thinking about causing trouble at the charity game to stay home,” the police chief continued. “We will not tolerate violence or any unlawful behavior during this family event.”
