Conservatives Hit Back at Soft GOP Leader Responses to Trump Raid

Many top political figures have weighed in as the unannounced raid of former President Donald Trump’s Florida home becomes the central talking point in the media.

The FBI has long been known for its corruption and during Trump’s presidency, it became more evident. While many Republicans condemned Biden’s Department of Justice and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the RINOs still decided to stir the pot.

Several Senate Republicans took their time to weigh in and didn’t give Trump much support. U.S. Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell is known for his lack of support for Trump and this instance was no different.

His Twitter feed contains talking points about taxes but lacks any information about the raid. About 24 hours after the raid, he finally made a statement in which he called on the DOJ and FBI for answers.

“The country deserves a thorough and immediate explanation of what led to the events of Monday,” McConnell said in a statement. “Attorney General Garland and the Department of Justice should already have provided answers to the American people and must do so immediately.”

Earlier in the day, McConnell was asked about the raid. However, the Senate leader only wanted to talk about the devastating floods that have hit parts of Kentucky. “I’m here to talk about the flood and recovery from the flood,” McConnell said in response to raid-related questions.

The first and only member talking about his support of Trump in the beginning was Sen. Rick Scott (R-FL).

Scott pointed out the concerns many conservatives are feeling, such as the federal government coming after people merely for their political positions.

“Is your federal government going to come after you because of your political position? That’s exactly the concern Americans have. And whether you’re Republican, Democrat, or independent, you should be worried. If this is where government works from now on, if you’re going back and forth, who’s in power and they’re going to go after their opponents, this is a tough place to live,” Scott said.

Conservative activist Christopher Bedford pointed out the GOP members who were silent. He also showed how former disgraced Democrat Governor of New York, Andrew Cuomo, was quicker to speak out against government overreach.

Surprisingly Cuomo, a staunch liberal, said the “DOJ must immediately explain the reason for its raid & it muse more than a search for inconsequential archives or it will be viewed as a political tactic and undermine any future credible investigation & legitimacy of January 6 investigations.”

Another Republican Senator to disappoint was Sen. Tim Scott (SC-R), who told Americans to just let the investigation “play out.”

With conservatives having to deal with Democrat corruption, dealing with RINOs is just another obstacle in making the United States a place where political freedom can once again be a possibility.
