Comer Seeks Answers After Biden Whistleblower Arrested

Rep. James Comer (R-KY), the chairman of the influential House Oversight Committee, is demanding answers after the whistleblower at the heart of several accusations regarding the Biden family was indicted on federal charges. In particular, Comer desires more information reportedly linking Hunter Biden to a Chinese company.

The dual U.S.-Israeli citizen was the center of the House Oversight Committee’s investigation into President Joe Biden’s son Hunter. The whistleblower was reported missing by House Republicans.

This week, Dr. Luft was arrested on charges related to alleged arms trafficking, lobbying on behalf of China and attempting to bypass American sanctions on Iran.

Comer requested more information surrounding the arrest, as well as sensitive information regarding the Biden family’s ties to a Chinese energy company.

“We definitely want to hear more about these allegations. And we want to see the notes from the FBI meeting,” Comer said.

He noted that Luft was interviewed by six FBI agents.

“Obviously, they were concerned about something he had to say. There is some level of credibility,” the Kentucky Republican said.

Comer added that he believed it was the “ultimate irony” that Luft was charged for being an alleged unregistered foreign agent, “which is the main thing we have said the Bidens were all along.”

Federal prosecutors accuse the doctor of attempting to recruit an unnamed American official in order to aid Beijing. Luft claims that the indictment is retaliation by the Biden administration for his testimony regarding the Biden family’s business dealings.

He said that he “volunteered to inform the US government about a potential security breach and about compromising information about a man vying to be the next president, am now being hunted by the very same people who I informed.”

Luft was allegedly tied to the Chinese energy company CEFC. Hunter Biden was also reportedly tied to the company, and the Biden family received about $5 million in payments from Chinese accounts.

Luft stated that Hunter Biden was receiving $100,000 per month from the company and Joe Biden’s brother Jim was receiving $65,000 as part of an alleged influence-peddling scheme.
