Celebrities Warn Of Effects If Trump Elected

President Joe Biden was joined by celebrities during a high-profile Los Angeles fundraiser this weekend. The event was the same one in which Biden was led off the stage by former President Barack Obama.

The star-studded event brought together a number of Hollywood celebrities to support the president. While there, a series of celebrities spoke against former President Donald Trump. Actor George Clooney said that there was “nothing riding” on the election “except, you know, democracy.” Actress Julia Roberts said that the stake of the election was the “future, our children’s future, our grandchildren’s future.”

The president was also joined by Jimmy Kimmel, Barbara Streisand and actor Jack Black.

Streisand told the audience that the country’s “democracy is under assault” and said that Biden was an “experienced Democrat who has passed transformative domestic legislation.”

Obama said that in the last several years the country “normalized behavior that used to be disqualifying.”

“We had the spectacle of the nominee of one of the two major parties, sitting in court and being convicted by a jury of his peers on 34 counts,” Obama said, referring to Trump.

The fundraiser is reported to have raised about $30 million.

Toward the end of the event, Biden and Obama were standing on stage. Obama was waving to people in the audience, while Biden appeared to be looking around. Obama took Biden by the arm and led him offstage.

The incident over the weekend follows video of the president in Normandy, France, marking the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landings. The president appeared to be looking around while other world leaders appeared more focused.

The concern about Biden’s mental state appears to be growing since special counsel Jack Hur declined to prosecute him regarding the alleged handling of sensitive documents in part because of the president’s failing memory earlier this year.

Hundreds of pro-Palestinian protesters demonstrated near the fundraiser, calling for a ceasefire in Israel’s current war against the terrorist group Hamas.
