Rep. Jim Banks (R-IN) joined a number of other congressional Republicans to call for the impeachment of President Joe Biden. The announcement echoed Republican criticism of the Biden family’s business deals and potential Department of Justice (DOJ) interference in the investigation of Hunter Biden.
Banks shared his opinion with Breitbart News. The Indiana Republican pointed to an FBI document in which a Ukrainian businessman spoke of a potential $5 million bribe each to Hunter and Joe Biden.
The younger Biden worked for the Ukrainian energy company Burisma at a salary of about $1 million per year while his father was vice president.
The release of the FBI document by Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) was described by Banks as “more proof and more evidence” of corruption within the Biden family.
“It’s time to impeach him,” Banks said. “The evidence was already there, but this is further evidence that this is the type of high crimes and misdemeanors that should prevent this man from serving any day longer in the White House than what he already has.”
The representative told the news outlet to “count me in the growing column of Republicans in Congress who believe this is so important and absolutely necessary to move forward with impeachment hearings.”

Furthermore, the representative cited the impeachments of former President Donald Trump, saying that Trump was targeted “because he was right.” He also called for the former president’s two impeachments to be expunged.
Banks declared his support for bills by Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) and Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) to expunge the record.
According to Stefanik, “it is past time to expunge Democrats’ sham smear against not only President Trump’s name, but against millions of patriots across the country.”
Greene said that the “first impeachment of President Trump was a politically motivated sham.” The Georgia Republican also cited the FBI document showing the potential bribe to Joe and Hunter Biden.
“The form vindicated President Trump and exposes the crimes of the Biden family,” she said.
