AOC Upsets The LGBTQ+ Community And You Have To Love It

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez doesn’t seem to know anything about the Russian invasion in Ukraine, so instead of getting involved, she decided to upset the LGBTQ+ community.

AOC is taking suggestions to rename a United States Post Office after being a member of the LGBTQ+ community. Dummy, the post office is already named after a member of the LGBTQ+ community.

The post office is named after the Jeanne and Jules Manford Post Office Building, and it’s located in Jackson Heights in Queens, New York.

Jeanne Manford was one of the first parents in America to attend and march in a gay rights parade with her child, a member of the LGBTQ+ community. She, and her husband Jules Manford, founded Parents and Friends of Lesbians and Gays. What does AOC think she’s doing here? Is it preferable to name it after an Instagram star who does nothing or after someone who has made a difference in the LGBTQ+ community?

Lauren Hitt said that AOC is “very open” to keep the name. Then why suggest the change? It is an opportunistic move for AOC to garner votes for the 2022 midterm election, keep herself popular, and find a new project to focus on.

The form says, “Congresswoman Ocasio-Cortez is planning to introduce legislation to rename the Jackson Heights and Corona Post Offices after two people who embody the diversity and tenacity of New York’s 14th congressional district. We’d like to hear from you: who are the neighborhood leaders who have inspired you?”

The form can be found here. Make your submission today. Milo Yiannopoulos would be a great choice. Not because he’s from the area, but because he represents diversity.

It isn’t being received well.

Former Democratic member of the New York City Council Daniel Dromm said, “Does she not know about our history? Did they not check to discover who the post office was named after? Is she unaware of Jeanne Manford’s existence? You don’t put a pioneer of the LGBT cause against another person.”

Allen Roskoff, an LGBT activist agreed.

Unless AOC wants to leave politics altogether, AOC should keep her mouth shut for the rest of the year.

Roskoff said, “How dare she put our community’s heritage up for a popularity contest or a vote? We are outraged.”

Roskoff, who is a member of the LGBTQ+ community, would have been furious about something else if AOC hadn’t done this, but it’s lovely that the left is going after each other.
